Atlas Ioka reacts to police bodycam footage as officers respond to a mass shooting that left five women shot and begin searching the surrounding area for the person responsible.
With witnesses providing conflicting descriptions, officers stop and speak with several people near the scene, including a man they would later encounter a second time. At that moment, police don't yet have sufficient evidence to arrest him and he continues on his way.
As investigators gather surveillance footage, witness statements, phone records, and other evidence, the case eventually leads to an arrest and a jury trial years later.
Three women were killed and two others were critically injured in the shooting. The defendant was ultimately convicted of multiple counts including aggravated murder and sentenced to four life sentences plus 43 years.
